Victoria L. Voight is Of Counsel with Conn Maciel Carey LLP, working remotely from Raleigh, North Carolina, where she provides the full range of workplace safety and health regulatory and employment law services for employers in North Carolina and around the country.
Victoria brings invaluable experience stemming from more than 40 years providing legal advice and representation to various North Carolina state agencies, ultimately as the Head of the Labor Section of the North Carolina Attorney General’s office, where she supervised all legal services provided to the North Carolina Department of Labor in the areas of occupational safety and health (for the North Carolina Occupational Safety and Health Administration), wage and hour, retaliation, and other areas of employment law. She also served as counsel to the Department of Justice and other State agencies by request regarding administrative and employment law issues. Victoria has extensive experience representing the State of North Carolina as an employer in employment discrimination litigation.
With that background and lasting relationships with key officials in North Carolina state government, Victoria brings unique perspective and extraordinary experience for employers in the management of inspections, investigations, and enforcement actions involving federal OSHA and State OSH Plans, particularly NCOSHA, and handles all aspects of litigation involving OSHA and NCOSHA citations, including ALJ hearings of contested citations, appeals, and criminal prosecutions.
Victoria also counsels employers in all aspects of the employer-employee relationship, including wage and hour disputes and claims of employment discrimination and retaliation. She counsels employers on employment issues, including hiring and termination, employment and separation agreements, federal and state leave-related issues, compensation structure, and effective documentation of employment actions. She also helps employers develop and implement employment policies, practices, and procedures.
In 2022, Victoria was honored with The Order of the Long Leaf Pine Award by the Governor of North Carolina and The Order of the Long Leaf Pine Society, becoming a North Carolina “Ambassador,” for her exemplary service during her tenure with the North Carolina Department of Justice.
In her free time, Victoria enjoys singing rock and roll, blues, and show tunes.
