Cal/OSHA Legislative, Regulatory and Enforcement Update

Join our Cal/OSHA team for a review of new California occupational safety and health laws and regulations, a look into the agency’s enforcement priorities, and further insight offered by recent Appeals Board decisions.

 

This session will also offer some best practices for improving your workplace safety and health program today, including the importance of reviewing the most frequently cited standards for your industry, preparing for inspections, and responding to injuries/illness in the workplace.

The Crossroads of Occupational Safety and Health and Employment Law: Workplace Violence Prevention

With the Governor's likely signature of Senate Bill 553 (Workplace Violence Prevention) on the horizon and other anticipated rulemaking and Cal/OSHA regulations addressing workplace violence protections, both employment and safety and health teams need to think through the implications of the anticipated compliance requirements.

 

Join us for a deep dive into the new requirements and an overview of the ways that various employment laws can be triggered while implementing a workplace violence prevention program. We will discuss issues including reasonable accommodations, claims of discrimination, harassment and retaliation, privacy rights, background checks, and more.

California Employment Law Update

With another busy legislative session coming to an end, join our California employment team for an overview of all the new laws going into effect in the new year. We will also discuss some key decisions from the California courts and National Labor Relations Board that will impact California employers in a wide range of topics from wage and hour issues, to handbook reviews, to arbitration agreements and more.
