ABOUT THE EVENT
Conn Maciel Carey LLP's Big Ticket Labor Bargaining Seminar in Chicago is an in-person program conducted by the attorneys in CMC's national Labor • Employment Practice Group to update employers on important developments involving recent rulings and enforcement related to collective bargaining, discuss key considerations for employers participating in multiemployer plans, and provide strategies for minimizing withdrawal liability.
Learn How to Navigate "Big Ticket" Collective Bargaining Negotiation Issues
To help improve your understanding of the bargaining process, join our Labor and Employment attorneys as they cover the "nuts and bolts" of collective bargaining, including best practices in union negotiations, insight on how to effectively prepare for bargaining, and tips for utilizing appropriate tactics and techniques to reach a solid agreement incorporating the company's desired outcome. Participants in this program will also be equipped to effectively prepare for and successfully execute bargaining strategies to maximize efficiency in their next contract negotiations.
In addition, employers participating in multiemployer pension plans will be provided with an in-depth examination of "big ticket" items and trends in pension withdrawal liability. This session will help employers understand the nature and potentially devastating pitfalls of withdrawal liability, discuss unique strategies to shield your business assets from a substantial withdrawal liability payment (often involving many millions of dollars) and maximize savings. Finally, they will learn how to assess and deal with potential withdrawal liability exposure in the short and long term.
