Darius Rohani-Shukla is an Associate in the firm’s Labor and Employment, and OSHA • Workplace Safety Practices in Washington, DC.

 

Darius represents clients in all aspects of Labor and Employment law including issues pertaining to the hiring and termination of employees, compliance with employment discrimination laws, negotiating and drafting employment agreements, restrictive covenants, wage and hour disputes, compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and theft of confidential information/trade secrets.

Darius also counsel clients on a broad spectrum of AI, privacy, and data security issues. His expertise spans various domains, including HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules, GDPR, CCPA, biometric information privacy laws, data security breach laws, and navigating the complex landscape of global and US state privacy and breach notification regulations. Additionally, he has specialized knowledge in employment-specific privacy and data protection matters. He assists in developing and implementing employee privacy and electronic monitoring policies and programs, addressing requirements related to biometric, health, and location data collection and use, and advising on employee monitoring, AI, machine learning technologies, and automated decision-making in the employment context. Darius is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) with the International Association of Privacy Professionals.

In support of the OSHA • Workplace Safety Practice Group, Darius provides the full range of federal OSHA and State OSH Plan legal services. Darius supports clients on a multitude of occupational safety and health law issues, including counseling on compliance with OSHA rules and standards, and representing employers in OSHA inspections, investigations, and enforcement actions. He also assists employers with workplace safety policies and procedures.

In his spare time, Darius enjoys watching sports, specifically soccer (especially his favorite team Liverpool FC) and tennis. He also enjoys spending time with his dog, Arlo, and exploring DC and surrounding areas.
