Ashley D. Mitchell is an Associate in the Chicago office of Conn Maciel Carey LLP supporting both the OSHA and Labor and Employment practice groups. 

 

Ashley represents and advises clients in a broad range of employment issues involving the employer-employee relationship including wage and hour disputes, Title VII discrimination claims, and compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).  She also counsels employers on workplace policies and procedures, harassment training, and employee handbooks.

 

In support of the OSHA • Workplace Safety Practice Group, Ashley represents employers during federal OSHA and State OSH Plan inspections and investigations, while providing advice and guidance on responding to workplace safety complaints and litigating contests of OSHA citations.  She also reviews and revises workplace safety policies and procedures.

 

Prior to joining Conn Maciel Carey, Ashley worked at a highly regarded employee-side employment litigation boutique law firm, litigating employment matters of all types.  While in law school, Ashley interned at the Chicago Park District’s Law Department, where her focus was tort litigation, and served as a Student Attorney in the Domestic Violence & Immigration Clinic, advising clients through the U-Visa application process.  Ashley currently tutors students who are preparing for the Illinois State Bar Exam through the Minority Legal Educational Resources.  She lives in Chicago.
