Erin Trotta is an Associate in the firm’s Labor & Employment and OSHA & Workplace Safety Practices in Washington, DC.

Erin represents clients in a broad range of employment and workplace safety matters, with experience guiding cases from initial investigation through administrative proceedings and resolution. Erin manages discrimination, failure-to-accommodate, and hostile work environment claims, and counsels employers on disciplinary actions, workplace investigations, and other day-to-day employment issues. Her practice also includes defending employers in OSHA-related matters, advising on regulatory compliance and workplace safety programs, and handling inspections, citations, and enforcement actions.

Erin has significant experience navigating complex administrative and regulatory frameworks. She regularly develops case strategies, conducts discovery, drafts dispositive motions, and prepares matters for mediation and hearing. She also counsels clients on sensitive workplace concerns, including reasonable accommodation requests, internal agency inquiries, and whistleblower claims.

Before entering private practice, Erin served as a Trial Attorney in the U.S. Department of Justice’s Civil Division, where she worked on complex environmental tort litigation involving toxic exposure and property contamination. Most recently, she worked for a boutique federal employment law firm, representing federal employees nationwide in Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB), reasonable accommodation, and whistleblower matters.

Earlier in her career, Erin spent several years with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia, where she supported all phases of civil litigation involving federal statutes such as the Freedom of Information Act, Administrative Procedure Act, and federal employment laws.

Erin enjoys exploring new dog-friendly coffee spots and restaurants with her three-legged dog, Beau.

Erin presents on a variety of topics for the firm’s OSHA Webinar Series and Labor & Employment Webinar Series.
