Conn Maciel Carey's Mission, Vision, and Core Values

One of the reasons we left our positions as partners in Big Law firms was to be in a position to be able to create a more flexible, client-friendly service model that would enable us to do the full range of work that we love to do. We want our client relationships to be collaborative, driven by the needs of the companies and individuals we represent and the challenges that they face. As such, we developed a new service model for our law firm grounded on listening to our clients, providing customized solutions, and crafting positive outcomes. All of our lawyers and staff are devoted to improving our clients’ businesses through excellent legal service.

CMC was formed after realizing that the traditional law firm service model no longer aligned with the best interests of our clients. We launched CMC because our clients were seeking a new service model with niche practices and specialized attorneys to truly partner with them to address business problems, and who provide customized, creative, cost-effective solutions. By decreasing overhead from the large national firms, we deliver considerable cost-savings to our clients, without sacrificing the high-quality legal services expected from large national law firms.

We are not a giant international law firm relying on a massive client portfolio to survive. Rather, we expect every new client relationship to be a long-term partnership, wherein we invest significant time and energy to learn our client partner’s business, procedures, and preferences.

Our five core principles define the heart of our firm:

We are a boutique law firm focusing on solving our clients’ Labor & Employment, OSHA Workplace Safety, MSHA Mine Safety and Health, and Litigation issues.

We know our clients’ businesses and understand the emerging legal and regulatory challenges arising in their industries.

Our hallmark of service is our creativity in crafting positive, customized solutions to the particular challenges our clients face.

With our lean approach to staffing and use of cloud-based technology, we are able to leverage efficiencies to deliver cost-savings for our clients.

Because we treat our clients as our partners, we bring passion and commitment to all our client relationships.

Diversity and inclusion has always been one of our firm's guiding principles. As a boutique firm with a focus on employment as well as safety and health law, Conn Maciel Carey understands the value of employment diversity, and strives to make itself a model discrimination- and harassment-free workplace. The ideal of equal opportunity is more than lip service.

At Conn Maciel Carey, we are proud to engage in a meaningful pro bono initiative that underscores our commitment to social responsibility and community service. We dedicate a significant amount of our resources and expertise to pro bono work. Our Pro Bono Committee, led by CMC Partner Lindsay A. DiSalvo, enthusiastically seeks out opportunities and volunteers their time to support individuals and organizations in need of exceptional legal assistance.

Whether its representing low-income clients in court, or assisting non-profit organizations with legal matters, our pro bono initiative reflects our belief in the power of the legal profession to contribute positively to society. This commitment not only aligns with our core values but also allows us to make a tangible difference in the lives of those facing legal challenges.
