Conn Maciel Carey LLP is pleased to announce the addition of two talented new attorneys \u2014\u00a0Samuel S. Rose<\/a>\u00a0(Los Angeles), and\u00a0Darius Rohani-Shukla<\/a>\u00a0(Washington, DC).<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Associate Sam Rose supports both the firm\u2019s OSHA \u2022 Workplace Safety Practice and the Labor and Employment Practice. He represents employers in a broad range of employment issues and Cal\/OSHA compliance and enforcement matters, and he revises employee handbooks and workplace policies and procedures.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m excited to grow as attorney and develop true expertise in employment and OSHA law,\u201d Mr. Rose says. \u201cThe partners are all so knowledgeable and willing to mentor and train associates.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Sam\u2019s legal career began at the Kings County District Attorney\u2019s Office (Brooklyn, NY), where he prosecuted a wide range of criminal cases.<\/p>\n

Co-founder and Chair of the firm\u2019s OSHA Practice Eric Conn says,<\/span>\u00a0\u201cSam spent time after law school in the District Attorney\u2019s office in Brooklyn, where he quickly gained experience in the courtroom through an active litigation docket. He also has a unique perspective having been on the prosecutor\u2019s side of the ledger.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\u201cI learned from the courtroom,\u201d Mr. Rose says, \u201cto think on my feet and make creative, thoughtful arguments on the spot.\u201d<\/p>\n

Since moving back to California, Sam has represented employers in various labor and employment matters and also represented public service employees\/unions through all stages of the disciplinary process.<\/p>\n

Kara Maciel, the firm\u2019s other Co-founder and Chair of the firm\u2019s Labor and Employment Practice Group, says,<\/p>\n

\u201cSam brings strong negotiation skills to the firm. He will be an integral part of the growth of our California practice, which has been a high priority of the firm since our founding.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Mr. Rose is very excited about serving clients through the Cal\/OSHA enforcement process and the challenges of labor and employment issues.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Associate Darius Rohani-Shukla has joined the firm\u2019s Labor and Employment and OSHA practices in Washington, DC.\u00a0 Mr. Rohani-Shukla adds solid experience in litigation as well as labor and employment law, including restrictive covenants, wage and hour disputes, claims of discrimination and harassment, compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA).<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are excited to have Darius advising companies on proactive measures to comply with the myriad of regulatory requirements under federal and state law,\u201d Ms. Maciel says. \u201cHe is eager to advise clients on privacy rights for employers at the state and local levels.\u201d<\/p>\n
